Hope In Heaven

Shriveled Life (Poem)

Shriveled petals
Crusted leaves
No longer soak up
Sunshine
Deadened stems
Browned seeds
Lost all hope of
Living again.

Yet look
See
There is beauty in this
Death
For though
Blossoms
Fade to never
Shine again
There is another way
Through death
Life will rise again.

Your heart
Sees the hurt
Here
How can this be?
When will it end?
Evil will
Perish
Truth will
Vanquish
All the brokenness
You’ve seen

See, look
A cross stands
bloodstained for you
He bore your sins
Paid your debt
Carried your
Sorrows

So look again
At the shriveled flower
And as you
Face the same end
Remember
Through death
We live
Again.

Dedicated to Mr. and Mrs. Stebbing, who taught me the beauty of the wilted flower. May God give you His peace for this trial and His vision for the weight of Glory in Heaven.
